Senior Business Advisor
You will own relationships rather than workstreams. That means a client’s chief executive calls you first when something changes, and it also means a number sits next to your name at the end of the year. Some genuinely excellent consultants dislike that second part — it is worth deciding now. On a bad week you are rewriting a proposal at eleven at night in a Frankfurt hotel.
Apply for this role- Team
- Advisory UK & Europe, 9 people
- Reports to
- Managing Partner, UK
- Travel
- Roughly 35% — mostly Europe, occasionally the Nordics
What you will do
- 1Own a portfolio of client relationships end to end — scope, quality, commercials and the awkward conversations
- 2Carry a revenue target for follow-on and new work, and build the pipeline that meets it
- 3Lead engagement teams of three to five, setting the argument early rather than editing slides late
- 4Stay in touch with clients between engagements, when nobody is being billed and the useful things get said
- 5Sharpen how the practice sells — proposals, pricing, and knowing which work to turn down
What we are looking for
- Eight to twelve years in consulting, corporate development or an in-house strategy function
- Genuine fluency with financial modelling — not just the ability to read someone else’s
- A record of clients who came back, and of at least some work you brought in yourself
- Comfort with commercial responsibility: pricing a piece of work, defending the fee, hearing no
- Written and spoken English of boardroom standard; another European language earns its keep
Nice to have
- Sector depth in financial services, industrial technology or the energy transition
- Experience selling into the UK and German-speaking markets, where our pipeline is heaviest
- Time spent inside a client organisation — it shows in how you write a recommendation
How hiring works
- 01
Application review
We read everything ourselves. You will hear back within ten working days either way.
- 02
Conversation with the Managing Partner
An hour on the clients you have carried, the work you have sold, and what you want to build here.
- 03
Client situation
A real, anonymised situation from our pipeline. We want to see how you would take it forward commercially, not a memorised framework.
- 04
Practice meeting and offer
Meet the nine people you would work alongside, then a decision within a week.
